This thematic BarCamp is about spirituality. It’s a grassroots movement. And it is about discovering and expressing our innermost fire. When we bring our individual talents together, we can create a collective force for the benefit of the whole.

With our motto „follow your bliss“, we want to reach people who strive for what they are truly

to serve our communities to the greatest possible extent. The sentence “follow your bliss” from the

famous philosopher and great teacher of human mythology Joseph Campbell is also the guiding

principle of the hotel Kientalerhof, which makes it an ideal place for this event. The hotel is located in

a small village close to Spiez at the beautiful Lake of Thoune, in one of the most spectacular alpine

settings in Switzerland.

The SoulCamp is hosted by Global Spirituality, Benefactum Initiative und openmindcafe. Attendance

is free of charge and open to anyone, children are welcome. For food and accommodation we have

to charge a contribution towards expenses.

Breits zum vierten Mal findet Anfang Februar ein BarCamp in Klagenfurt statt!

Was ist ein BarCamp?
Eine Unkonferenz (das Wort gibt es tatsächlich) rund um alles, was mit Technik, vor dem Web, zu tun hat. Zwei Tage lang gibt es Diskussionen und Vorträge darum. Das Programm ist dabei nicht vorgegeben, sondern ergibt sich vor Ort.

Erlaubt ist jedes Thema, das Interessierte findet, die “Abstimmung” über die Themen erfolgt mit den “Füßen” – wem ein Thema nicht zusagt, geht einfach in eine andere Session. Vermutlich wird es zwei oder drei parallele Tracks geben.

Bei einem BarCamp gibt es auch keinerlei Beschränkungen: Der Eintritt ist frei, jeder kann kommen. Grundvoraussetzung: Man muss bereit sein, sein Wissen in weiter geben zu wollen. Denn: Wissen vermehrt sich durch Teilung!

Philippe Rochat has just opened the registration for the next BarCamp in the beautiful city of Lausanne. On October 31st the fourth BarCamp will be held at the EPFL in Lausanne.

I am very happy to announce that the registration for the next BarCamp in the Zurich area will be on October 24th at the university of applied sciences in Rapperswil (HSR).
And starting now you can add your name to the participants list on the BarCamp wiki.
Also you like to present something (like a new Javascript library, a nice hack for WPF or just talk about Open Source projects) add your name and the presentation title to the wiki as well.

This is just a short update for all interested people for the BarCamp in Rapperswil.
There are still slots open for any kind of sponsors. Currently we have around four commitments to sponsor the event. Thank you all so far! I really appreciate your support.
Second, I am still going through a very annoying and slow process for room reservation at the university. The confirmation should have arrived two weeks ago and we still are exchanging emails with the administration.

Nevertheless, mark the date: 24 of October 2009!

Call for Sponsors – BarCampRapperswil

For a little while I am playing with the idea to organize the next BarCamp at my university in Rapperswil. Venue is perfect, 2 minutes from the train station, 35 minutes from Zurich HB by train. And the location is perfect. Plenty of rooms do discuss, analyze and develop ideas. There is the beautiful city of Rapperswil with lots of restaurants, bars and of the course the Lake of Zurich.
The university would be willing to offer/sponsor the rooms. So next thing are some sponsors for drinks, food, maybe t-shirts and so on. But for this I need your help.

Do you know any company that would like to sponsor BarCampRapperswil with 200-300 CHF? That is not a lot and the company gets back much. You will be featured on the website as sponsors, you might be on the t-shirts, on information sheets and of course you can be an active participant at the BarCamp.

Details:
We are looking for 5-10 sponsors for 200 to 300 CHF each (best case: 3000 CHF, t-shirts and drinks, apero; worst case: 1000 CHF: drinks and some apero). Of course the more the better. But if we only can get 1000 CHF this is going to be the most “back-to-the-roots BarCamp” ever . Fun for sure!
The current event date is set to 23rd or 30st of October (exactly three years after BarCampZurich, yay!).

BarCamp Senza Confini 2008

Liebe Community!

Am 2. und 3 Februar 2008 findet an der Alpen-Adria-Universität in Klagenfurt (Kärnten) das BarCamp Senza Confini statt. Anders als bei unserem ersten BarCamp im Februar 2007 blicken wir mit dieser Veranstaltung bewusst über die Grenzen nach Oberitalien, Slowenien und Kroatien. Natürlich sind auch alle Interessierten im deutschsprachigen Raum eingeladen. Wir wollen dazu beitragen, dass sich möglichst viele Leute dies- und jenseits der Sprachbarriere frische Ideen holen. Mit der Veranstaltung, sie wird neben deutscher auch in englischer Sprache abgehalten, wollen wir die Web 2.0 Community diesseits und jenseits der Grenze ansprechen und den Alpen-Adria-Raum noch viel stärker zu dem machen, was er in Wirklichkeit
ist: Eine große Chance für uns alle!

Senza Confini: Ein BarCamp ohne Grenzen

Damit das BarCamp zu einem Erfolg wird, wollen wir möglichst viele Internet-Freaks und Blogger aus Slowenien, Kroatien und Italien zum BarCamp Senza Confini nach Klagenfurt einladen. Einladen wollen wir euch vor allem aber auch dazu, über das BarCamp Senza Confini zu bloggen (bitte den Tag “BarCampSenzaConfini” verwenden) und möglichst vielen BarCampern davon zu erzählen. Patrick over at netznews.tv was at this years BarCampBlog in Palo Alto – was he the only Swiss there?? – and did a short and nice interview with Tara Hunt and Chris Messina about BarCamps and a little bit about BarCampBlock. You really should take 5 minutes and watch it.

I like the idea to describe a BarCamp as an “offline wiki” in which everybody can contribute and edit it freely.
